The 58th national film awards for the year 2010 were announced at a press conference in New Delhi today. While Telugu film ‘Advaitam’ won the Best Educational Film Award, it is ‘Dabangg’ got the Wholesome Entertainment. Tamil and Malayalam films won major awards.

Four Awards To Kannada Cinema At The 58th Nationla Awards

At the just announced 58th National film awards Kannada filmdom bagged four awards - Best environment film for Bettada Jeeva, directed by P Seshadri, award for Hejjegalu of P Ram Das Naidu, Best regional cinema award to Puttakkana High Way directed by B Suresha and best critic award to Manu Chakravarthy.

Manu Chakravarthy was also one of the panel members from Karnataka. The other member in the panel from Karnataka was BS Lingadevaru.

'Hudugaru' Equal Initial Compared To 'Jackie'

The spokesman of Dr Rajakumar Empire Raghavendra Rajakumar known for very fine address and to the point answers was best again on Wednesday night at the success meet of ‘Hudugaru’ at Gold Finch Hotel in Bengaluru.

In the family we decided after watching ‘Nododigal’ to remake. At the time of watching we decided on the actor Yogish and a few others. This multi star is attempted in knowing whether audience would accept and that eventually lead to more such scripts from our writers. Every cinema is on trial and error basis. For Harikrishna the talent of God is sitting next to him opined Raghavendra Rajakumar. We wanted the audio and video also reach the audience. So we thought of Guruprasad for dialogues.

The opinion for ‘Hudugaru’ is very good. The new kind of film for the audience has no inconvenient response added Ragavendra Rajakumar.

Puneeth Rajakumar Back From Australia!!

The super power star of Kannada cinema Puneeth Rajakumar was not available in Bangalore at the time of release of ‘Hudugaru’ Kannada film his first multi star cast film. He was on a holiday to Australia with family members for a fortnight.

Back from Australia the power star met the media on Wednesday night to extend thanks for the good reviews to ‘Hudugaru’. Suffering a slight jet lag and in need of a good sleep power star Puneeth Rajakumar disclosed that was in ‘Hudugaru’ mood even in his holiday trip. This is the first multi star cast film I have acted. The success of this film and contents liked by the people would give room for more such multi star cast stories of Kannada origin. That is the first main reason I have acted in this film.

In the coming days I am ready for more multi star cast film. It is always the ‘Support leads to Comfort’ feels Puneeth Rajakumar. The chemistry of the entire team working for ‘Hudugaru’ was very normal and we thoroughly enjoyed.

I hear good report for Yogish, Radhika Pandit and Srinagar Kitty. It is good for such recognition. This is a kind of experimental film for me. The ‘Pankaja…..song is sung by children today.

We have worked for this film without any disparity. Treating every shot, every actor, technician equally. Probably that ‘God’ has given the success for this ‘Hudugaru’ is the strong opinion of power star of Kannada cinema Puneeth Rajakumar.

Indrajith Lankesh to Act Again

The colorful personality ever shining Indrajith Lankesh known as journalist, director and sports person is not returning as director after his debacle ‘Huduga Hudugi’. He is now an actor in director PN Sathya’s ‘Pagal’ Kannada cinema in which Pooja Gandhi is the heroine.

Director PN Sathya is the hero from ‘Pagal’ Kannada cinema and he has given a glamorous role for director Indrajith Lankesh. Indrajith Lankesh normally gives a flashy appearance in his films has appeared in a glamorous song in his earlier film ‘Huduga Hudugi’ shaking legs with foreign models.

‘Pagal’ has completed shooting and it is at the re-recording stage. Two songs are left to be completed. The film has action and very nice love story says director PN Sathya.

Interestingly ‘Pagal’ has a caption ‘No Parking’. K Muralidhar ist he producer. V Manohar has scored the music and Speed Babu is the cameraman.

‘Pagal’ is likely to release in the month of July 2011.

Sada and Catherine For Upendra!!

Last minute changes have taken place. Actress Simran is not acting in ‘God Father’. Sada the south Indian beauty is playing the lead with Upendra in ‘God Father’. For the triple roles of Upendra in God Father Catherine comes in for the place of Bhoomika and Soundarya remains the youngest heroine for one of the three roles of Upendra of this Sriram directorial venture in the production of K Manju.

Sada is not new to Kannada cinema. She was in ‘Monalisa’ first ant then in ‘Mohini’. Her latest film ‘Mylari’ is a hundred days film for her. She is now in two Upendra films – God Father and another in the direction of P Vasu.

Meanwhile the Mumbai lass Catherine is also coming back to Kannada cinema. She was seen in K Manju’s ‘Shanker IPS’ opposite action hero Vijay.

Producer K Manju has brought back the heroine he has introduced in his earlier film.

Director Prem Giving Different Platfrom For 'Jogaiah'

Always aspiring for big whether it happens or not – director Prem – in his first home banner film ‘Jogaiah’ the 100th film of hat trick hero Shivarajakumar has chalked out many schemes for the audio release.

Hat trick director Prem disclosed in the beginning that it is world release of ‘Jogaiah’ audio but there is no news of the audio releasing in a place other than Bangalore city.

Just a day before the release of the audio director Prem single handedly convened the media meet with electronic channel and released the ‘Jogaiah’ audio album. His actress wife Rakshita was also not present and sitting in his chair in front of the television channels director Prem released the audio CD of ‘Jogaiah’. Does it mean world release?

On Thursday morning power star Puneeth Rajakumar reaching the Calipso Music Store in Jayanagar and buying the audio CD of the film ‘Jogaiah’. At Malleswaram Temptation music store house actress Rakshita is visiting the sop and buy the audio CD of ‘Jogaiah’. At Annamma Devi Temple Shivarajakumar is visiting the place to buy the CD of his own film.

The purpose of the event is also to spread the message - buy original CD and kill piracy. It is understood that on 20th May director Prem has another audio launch in the big way coinciding with the silver jubilee married life of Shivarajakumar and his wife Geetha.

Three Movies Hitting The Screen This Week!!

With the release of films reaching to almost 50 in the last four and half month – this week on 20th May 2011 three Kannada films are hitting the silver screen.

It is ‘Puttakkana High Way’, ‘Khadimaru’ and ‘Olavina Gelathi’. Out of the three films ‘Puttakkana High Way’ has been rated high for its star cast. It is based on a novel of ace director Nagathihalli Chandrasekhar. Prakash Raj and Shruthi play important roles in this film on ‘development and displacement’. There are many sensitive issues handled in the film by B Suresha.

Media House and Duet Movies have jointly produced this film that is headed by Shylaja Nag and Prakash Raj. Hamsalekha has scored lovely tunes for this film and HM Ramachandra is the cameraman. Besides Shruthi, Prakash Raj – Achyuth Kumar, Srinivasa Prbhu, Veena Sunder, Mandya Ramesh are also in the cast.

‘Khadimaru’ is about five youths who come to city to make money from village. All are having different ambitions in this Srikanteshwara Films. Amarchand Jain and Vijay Surana are the producers. Known for action films Ha Su Rajesehkar headed the megaphone. MS Maruthi music and Niranjan Babu is the cameraman. Tilak, Deepak, Ajith, Amith, Jeevan, Naveen, Madhuri, Priyanka, Nayana, Adhi Lokesh, Shobaraj, Bank Janardhan are in the cast.

‘Olavina Gelathi’ is a love triangle from Mandya Nagaraj. Aradhya has stood behind the camera and Raviraj is the music director. Prashanth, Naveen, Jyothisri, Shobaraj, Bullet Prakash, Mohan Juneja, Bank Janardhan, Honnavalli Krishna, Swastik Shanker, Michael Madhu and others.

Lovely Star Premkumar Without Dupes!!

The prominent actor of Kannada cinema Lovely star Premkumar with two films ready to hit the screens – Dhan Dhana Dhan and ‘I am Sorry…Mathe Banni Pritsona’ has made up his mind firmly to take part in the chilling action scene of his film ‘Shatru’ without any dupes.

At the parched areas of Savadatti surroundings near Belgaum district in the action direction of Thriller Manju the lovely star Premkumar is participating without any dupes.

Shatru is directed by Jagadish Kumar alias JK. He has a good background to his debut. He was in the camp of Priyadarshan, Mahesh Bhat and KV Raju. He has taken an incident in Bihar for the script of his film. It is more like Sri Krishna using his tactics the protagonist uses his strength said JK. For one of the encounters he is using the journalists in the film. Normal cases it is not done. But I am looking at different angle he says. The screenplay does not allow audience to relax even a single minute. Such a nice and intelligent screenplay is done for the film says confident JK. Just like Khamatipura JK found a place near Savadathi for the villain den.

Prakash and Anandanna are the producers of ‘Shatru’. Prakash produced ‘Krishna Nee Late Aagi Baro’. Anandanna is a councilor. Mathew Rajan is using some special strength to capture in his super 35 MM camera.

Sanskrit Film In Public Investment - KSL Swamee

On the banks of Sharavathi river at Shimoga ‘Kashi’ has been set up for the Sanskrit film of veteran director and actor KSL Swamee.

The film in Sanskrit ‘Chandra Prabhodayam’ that went on the floors on last September 12 at Sri Shankar Math in the presence of Governor of Karnataka Hansaraj Bharadwaj is now briskly shooting on a set of the 8th century. 

KSL Swamee has pulled the money from the public for his more than one crore cinema. The 11th century findings in Sri Krishna Yathi Mishra play.

For the construction of Kashi international fame Nitish Roy has come from Calcutta and working with 50 workers.

In Sanskrit language veteran GV Iyer made ‘Sri Adhi Shankara, Sri Madhwacharya and Sri Ramanujacharya’. It was based on philosophers. This ‘Chandra Prabhodhayam’ is on ‘Suguna and Durguna’ says KSL Swamee who is immersed in making this Sanskirt film.

Prajwal Poovaiah Come Here To Shine

The Mangalore girl with right physique meant for the arch light – Prajwal Poovaiah born in Madikeri and brought up in Mangalore has made debut in ‘Bheema Theeradalli’ opposite actions tar Vijay. Prajwal Poovaiah was prominently seen at the muhurut of Kannada film ‘Cotton Pete’ but the director of the two films N Omprakash Rao selected him for ‘Bheema Theeradalli’.

Trained in Waistling Woods Acting school in Mumbai for seven months Prajwal Poovaiah is dreaming about a career in films. She was the football player in the district and state level.

Achyuthkumar Moves To Non Kannada Films

Back home Achyuthkumar has ‘Puttakkana High Way’ releasing this week. Aata and Adwaitha are the under production films in Kannada.

'Attahasa' Kishore Makes Special Preparation

Director of ‘Cyanide’, ‘Santosha’, ‘Police Quarters’ AMR Ramesh has groomed talented actor Kishore as ‘Veerappan’ the fugitive for his next bilingual film ‘Attahasa’.

AMR Ramesh as a matter of fact wanted to take up a film on Veerappan soon after ‘Cyanide’ but he could not get the authentic information for his research work. Now everything is ready for this big budget movie with big stars involved in the cast.

Ramesh says there is enough of curiosity on the subject of Veerappan and enough of home work has gone in. There are so many incidents that people want to know the truth he says.

Ramesh is also adding the Dr Rajakumar kidnap in his ‘Attahasa’ film and his meetings with Muthulakshmi, Nedumaran, Kolathur Mani are all part of the film.

As of now Kishore has been finalized for ‘Veerappan’ role and I am trying for action king Arjun for IPS officer Vijayakumar who encountered Veerappan. I have in mind Akkineni Nageshwara Rao for the role of Dr Rajakumar. The whole story will be narrated from a journalist point of view. For that I am likely to contact Priyamani or Ramya.

The screenplay of ‘Attahara’ also includes minister Nagappa kidnap and killing by Veerappan besides the rise and fall of Veerappan informs Ramesh on his most ambitious project.

Ramesh contacted the senior cops like Vijaykumar, Kempaiah, Shankar Bidari, Gopal Hosur, Bipin Gopalkrishna, Chikkerur, Jyothi, Prakash Mirji Kuchanna Srinivasan and many IPS Officers, ACP Bawa and others. I have also visited Belgaum jail, Mysore jail, Bangalore jail; Coimbatore jail to meet the inmates of Veerappan adds AMR Ramesh.

Kishen Master Degree in Doldrums

The child prodigy Kishen getting nod from the government of Karnataka to write the Masters degree in Multi Media as he has passed out with 93 percent in SSLC examination has come in for discussion at the academic circle.

The Upen University chancellor Prof KS Rangappa has clarified in the guidelines there is no such provision.  In case the government order deserves such modifications in the guidelines could be altered. 'Puttakkana High Way' Premier Held

A film based on the real life happening ‘Puttakkana High Way’ – that was a story format from Nagathihalli Chandrasekhar has been adapted by intelligent director B Suresha starring Shruthi, Prakash Raj, Achyuthkumar, Srinivasa Prabhu, Veena Sunder, RG Vijayasarathy, Sihikahi Chandru, Suresh and others is all set for release on 20th of this month in24 theatres.

The premier of the film was held on Saturday evening at Renukamba theatre and a media briefing later at GM Rejoyce in Malleswaram, Bangalore.

The lead actor in ‘Puttakka’ role Shruti felt extremely happy for giving a wonderful role to perform. In addition to this team I have worked in the team that immensely love cinema states Shruthi in her short address.

This kind of adaptation to hold a mirror to the society is something seen in films of K Balachander Dadasaheb Phalke award winner informed actor and theatre personality Mandya Ramesh. Achyuth Kumar was so happy that he wants to know when the fourth project of director B Suresha is starting.

No For 'Anna Hazare' Title

The Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce has strictly said ‘No’ to Anna Hazare title. ‘I am keeping the legend as inspiration for the film’ – I am not bringing black spot says producer Sampath Kumar. Sampath Kumar has produced films like Thimma, Channa and Prem Nagar. He is also director of Kannada film ‘Prem Nagar’ that stars Arjun and Varsha.

Sampathkumar has submitted the script to the KFCC for title approval. According to Sampathkumar five youths from affluent section of the society take a major step in their life to bring the parents – corrupt ones. They are inspired from the Anna Hazare formula. What Sampath Kumar says is that the youths should stand up against corruption. When the corrupt father becomes low in front of his children he is left with an alternative life. That alternative life is nothing but going in right direction in life.

When the KFCC has approved titles with names of disgruntled personality’s names – for example ‘Veerappan’ in the past why is it disturbing the most lovable personality title that would bring some changes in the society – Sampathkumar is furious on KFCC not approving the title.

‘I have already consulted some of the big stars for this movie’. To my fortune they have consented to act only because of the title ‘Anna Hazare’ says Sampathkumar.

Prakash Raj to Take Up 'Swaroopa'

The terrific actor, brilliant director and shrewd producer Prakash Raj is taking up ‘Swaroopa’ sometime in this year. This is the second direction of Prakash Raj. His earlier film ‘Naanu Nanna Kanasu’ was a remake of ‘Abhiyum Naanum’ Tamil film. Prakash Raj has two more commitments in Tamil to finish before taking up his second Kannada film to direction.

The pride of South Indian cinema Prakash Raj now working in ‘Budda’ with Amitabh Bachchan and ‘Singam’ remake in Hindi starring Ajay Devgun rushed after the premier to Mumbai to take part in early morning shooting for Ajay Devgun film and for the dubbing of Amitabh Bachchan cinema.

A platform has now been constructed from ‘Naanu Nanna Kanasu’. What we felt for so many years, talent, identity and life generating out of it is happening now gradually feels Prakash Raj.

It is at the 50th day of Naanu Nanna Kanasu I was fascinated with the script of B Suresha. He was in USA trip when I was admiring the script of ‘Puttakkana High Way’ remembered Prakash Raj. The spirit in us making this film is genuine. There is honesty and responsibility too.

Ramya Rocks in 'JMN' Songs
